Tomorrow evening two of my good friends are getting married. To each other. Lindsay and Kyle. I love when this happens. When you know both the bride and groom. Their wedding is bound to be a celebration packed with lots of dancing. This morning I went out bargain shopping (because that's how I roll) and I found a dress. The kind that is the only size and color left on the clearance rack that started way out of your range but now it's like 80% off--and you decide...I'll try it just for the heck of it--and it fit...and I loved it. Colors matter to me. It's blue. Ocean blue. It instantly caught my eye. It's different than any other dress I've ever worn. So--I have a classy dress for the wedding. And I hope to wear it well. I'll try to accessorize and make it a funky little number. It will be full of color that is FOR SURE.
The dress is a style I've never worn. It's a shirtdress. I've seen them around. I looked them up online as soon as I got home. Yep. Knew it. Totally from the 70's. Stinking awesome. Love this. I'M FROM THE 70's! 1973, baby. Really really love this. A shirtdress is as follows:
a style of dress which borrows details from a man's shirt. These can include a collar, a button front, or cuffed sleeves. Often, these dresses are made up in crisp fabrics like cotton or silk, much like a men's dress shirt would be. As they are typically cut without a seam at the waist, these dresses often have a looser fit, usually relying on a belt to define the waist. Button fronts and a forgiving fit make this a flattering look for most body types.
You betcha. Gonna rock the shirtdress.
Still deciding on the shoes. Red wedges or yellow heels? Hmmmmm. You'll just have to wait and see!! Yes, I love fashion. I like to look good. Nothing wrong with that. Here we go, Kyle and Linds. Ready to celebrate your life together. Pictures to come.
